May 8, 2025
On Thursday, May 8th, beginning at 6:30 pm, Mark Silo and John Loz from the Southern Adirondack Audubon Society will conduct a Beginner Birding Workshop at the Easton Library. The program will focus on the very basics of how to start bird watching, which will include: how to use binoculars properly, recommend the best field guides and birding phone apps, and show registrants how to identify different bird species. The program will start indoors with a 20-minute presentation with time to ask questions. Attendees will then head outdoors to practice what they learned. The group will look for birds, practice using binoculars, and learn to look for diagnostic field marks on birds. A limited supply of extra binoculars will be on hand to borrow, so please bring your own if you have them. To register, contact the Easton Library at 518-692-2253. The library is located at 1074 State Route 40, Greenwich, NY.
